Internationalization and continuous improvement

Our project for institutional accreditation and constant drive towards improvement arises from Gimnasio Fontana’s strategic vision. The School strives to update the quality and content of its programs, to give its students competitive advantages once they graduate from the school.

This process began in 2008, with the accreditation by the Council of International Schools (CIS), a European organization. This allowed the entire school community to build a culture of constant development, and to give our educational project an international dimension.

  • Since this accreditation requires regular evaluation, it guarantees that the school is fulfilling its Mission and Vision, as well as a firm commitment to high quality education and continuous improvement.
  • In the event of moving to a new city or country, the search for, and admission to, another CIS school will be easier.

  • Facilitates approaching and applying to any College or University abroad.
  • Gives students access to international teachers selected through CIS, and the opportunity to learn in a multilingual and multicultural environment with high standards.

What is Accreditation?

Accreditation is a rigorous system for continuous improvement in education.  It requires compliance with certain evaluation parameters and with international educational and administrative standards.  Accreditation enables schools to implement their own education projects in accordance with the highest world standards.  That is the case of Gimnasio Fontana.

¡Reacreditados por cinco años más!

Re-accreditation awarded for an additional five years!

In February 2014 we again received the visit of two international experts from the CIS system.  The purpose of their visit was to determine where the School was standing after its initial accreditation in 2008.

After evaluating different areas, they congratulated the School on its progress and results.  They also identified areas for improvement, and challenges that need to be overcome.

The report reflected strong progress in 5 specific areas:

  • Technology Incorporation:  IT incorporation into the teaching and learning processes.
  • Teacher Training: Research and teaching approaches consistent with the School’s philosophy, IT competencies, differentiation in the classroom, among other areas.
  • Admission Process and Holistic Development Cente:Teamwork to achieve a standard personalized student and family selection process to ensure alignment between families applying for enrollment of their children in the school and the School’s objectives and values. (hipervínculo a admisiones)
  • Curricular integration
  • What If :Integration between arts and sciences with the aim of developing creativity.
