International Accreditation

International Accreditation - Gimnasio Fontana

The School received its accreditation from the Council of International Schools (CIS) in 2008. This international organization out of Europe works to promote continuous improvement of schools and higher education institutions around the world.

What is Accreditation?

Accreditation is a rigorous system for continuous improvement in education.  It requires compliance with certain evaluation parameters and with international educational and administrative standards.  Accreditation enables schools to implement their own education projects in accordance with the highest world standards.  That is the case of Gimnasio Fontana.

  • A permanent evaluation system is a way to ensure that the School adheres to its mission and vision statements, and that it is constantly committed to continuous improvement and quality education.
  • Accreditation makes it easier to find and join a different CIS school in case of transfer to another city or country.

  • Accreditation makes contacts and enrollment in international colleges and universities easier.
  • Learning from foreign teachers selected through CIS, in a multicultural, trilingual environment, with high quality standards.

¡Reacreditados por cinco años más!

Re-accreditation awarded for an additional five years!

In February 2014 we again received the visit of two international experts from the CIS system.  The purpose of their visit was to determine where the School was standing after its initial accreditation in 2008.

After evaluating different areas, they congratulated the School on its progress and results.  They also identified areas for improvement, and challenges that need to be overcome.

The report reflected strong progress in 5 specific areas:

  • Technology Incorporation:  IT incorporation into the teaching and learning processes.
  • Teacher Training: Research and teaching approaches consistent with the School’s philosophy, IT competencies, differentiation in the classroom, among other areas.
  • Admission Process and Holistic Development Cente:Teamwork to achieve a standard personalized student and family selection process to ensure alignment between families applying for enrollment of their children in the school and the School’s objectives and values. (hipervínculo a admisiones)
